Investors in Europe now have the opportunity to gain direct exposure to the CoinDesk 20, a benchmark index for the largest digital assets, through the newly launched WisdomTree's Physical CoinDesk 20 ETP (WCRP).

This exchange-traded product (ETP) provides a new avenue for institutional investors to access major digital assets in a manner similar to traditional finance ETPs like those tracking the S&P 500 or NASDAQ.

The WCRP is available on several prominent European exchanges, including Deutsche Börse Xetra, the Swiss Stock Exchange SIX, and Euronext (EPA: ENX ) exchanges in Paris and Amsterdam. The introduction of this ETP marks a significant advancement in the availability of digital asset investment products for European investors.

Alan Campbell, President of CoinDesk Indices, emphasized the importance of this launch, stating, "The launch of the first CoinDesk 20 ETP with WisdomTree is a defining moment for digital asset investing in Europe." He highlighted that the CoinDesk 20 provides a simplified means for institutional players to diversify their investments beyond Bitcoin .

In addition to offering exposure to the assets listed on the CoinDesk 20, the WCRP ETP also generates staking yield. This feature enables investors to earn rewards for contributing to the security of the underlying blockchain networks, adding an additional incentive for investment.

Since its inception in January 2024, the CoinDesk 20 Index has rapidly become an essential benchmark for digital asset investors, amassing over $14 billion in trading volume in its first year alone.

The availability of the WCRP ETP is expected to further cement the index's position in the market and expand access to digital assets for European investors.
