A company associated with United States President Donald Trump announced an airdrop of TRUMP memecoins. Individuals who have purchased Trump-branded merchandise, including watches, fragrances, sneakers, or digital collectible cards, are eligible to receive three TRUMP tokens. To qualify for the airdrop, customers must have made their purchases before February 15.

The memecoin, which currently trades at $17.31, means the airdrop is valued at approximately $50 USD. Recipients of the tokens must claim their airdrop by March 1. The distribution of the TRUMP tokens is being managed by the blockchain platform Crossmint.

President Trump launched the memecoin ahead of his January 20 inauguration as the 47th President of the United States. The cryptocurrency saw a significant surge in value shortly after its introduction, reaching a price point of $67 and entering the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. As of now, TRUMP is ranked 43rd in market cap, positioned just below Aptos, as per The Block's price dashboard.

In a related development, President Trump entered the digital asset space in late 2022 with the release of an NFT collection. This collection consisted of 45,000 assets based on the Polygon network, each offered at $99. Following the launch of additional NFT collections, President Trump reported in a financial disclosure in August 2024 that he had earned $7 million from his ventures in non-fungible tokens.
